Where Memories Become Books

One sunny afternoon at the end of August 2025, we noticed an elderly couple sitting on a bench in Appledore. What began as a friendly chat quickly turned into something special. The gentleman spoke quietly about his lifelong writing — stories he had always dreamed of turning into a book, but thought he could never manage, either financially or practically.

Fu smiled and said, “We can help with that.” And just like that, a remarkable journey began.

We started by gathering his treasures: handwritten notes, boxes of photographs, and postcards filled with memories spanning decades. His daughter typed several of his stories into the computer, giving his words a digital home we could work with.

From the first draft through multiple rounds of careful review, we shaped the stories while keeping his unique voice at the heart of every page. When the first printed proof arrived, seeing the couple hold it in their hands — witnessing the stories come to life — was a truly magical moment.

The final books were created with love: a hardback edition for their children as a Christmas present, and softback copies for close friends. Some copies found their way to Market Street Kitchen, the local café, where they were soon snapped up by fellow villagers.

The response was overwhelming — the books sold out in less than 24 hours. What began as a simple gift idea became a cherished keepsake, preserving stories and memories that might otherwise have been lost.

This journey reminds us why we do what we do: helping families capture their memories, celebrate their stories, and share them in ways that can be treasured for generations.
